In my last post, I told you that we had decided the order in which we should proceed: 1. Jobs 2. Place to live 3. Car Well, so much for planning. On Thursday afternoon, we found a gorgeous house to rent in El Refugió, a housing development off Fray Juniper Serró, a little north ofContinue reading “Home Sweet Home”

A River Runs Through It
One of the things I like about living in the Col. Centro Histórico de Querétaro is that there is a river that runs down the center of Av. Universidades with walking paths on both sides. It reminds me a bit of the Boise Greenbelt, except that here the water is not as nice and itContinue reading “A River Runs Through It”
Heading into Week Two
I find that if I write earlier in the day, I write better. It is 11:00 a.m. now. Lyn has headed off to his Spanish lesson. I’m so proud of him for taking these classes. He’s funny, though. He is always asking me questions about Spanish while I’m trying to do something else. Hmm, isContinue reading “Heading into Week Two”
Querétaro
OMG, we´ve been here three days so far and are just loving it. It is so different from Boise, but so quaint and lovely. Our house is small and right downtown. We walk everywhere, except when we have to go to the store. Then we drive. Our rental car is a MiniVan. The streets hereContinue reading “Querétaro”
UGH – Continued
It has been a few days since I started telling this story. Hopefully I can get it down now without crying or tearing my hear out! So, on Friday, 2/16, we closed on our house. That was the simple part of the day. When we were done there, we went immediately to the UPS storeContinue reading “UGH – Continued”
UGH!
What a cluster! Never, ever, EVER trust UPS when they tell you “no problem.” Boy, did I learn that the hard way! So, when last I wrote, we were waiting for UPS to arrive between 2 and 5 p.m. on Thursday to pick up all of our worldly possessions. I worked so hard to getContinue reading “UGH!”
Moving to Queretaro — Update!
So much has changed in such a short period of time. First, there were many complications with shipping our pets. You see, Queretaro is a small airport and United can not accommodate Sophie Poodle’s crate on the planes that fly in there. That meant that we had to have her and Jack the Cat shippedContinue reading “Moving to Queretaro — Update!”
I hate moving…
Ugh. Moving is a drag. Moving to another country is even more challenging. To date we have packed a few boxes, watched our living room, dining room and patio furniture leave without us, and have made travel arrangements for us and our pets. Still no place to live in Queretaro, although I’m confident something willContinue reading “I hate moving…”
Puerto Vallarta Revisited
Lyn and I have been home now since very late Saturday night. And what a night it was! Got home to chirping smoke detectors that didn’t respond to new batteries. We replaced them 3 times! Without a car, we ultimately called a friend to come and take us to a hotel for the night. Yes,Continue reading “Puerto Vallarta Revisited”
Certified TEFL Teachers!
Our time here has come to an end. We are through with our course and received our certificates today. We also had to have photos done for the official certificates that will come from the Mexican government. Woot! While I´m thrilled to be done with the course, I am also sorry to see it end.Continue reading “Certified TEFL Teachers!”
